Teeth In A Day

teeth in a dayA lot of our patients like the idea of a dental implant and the unique benefits it has to offer when it comes to replacing missing teeth; however, the idea of undergoing multiple dental procedures and having to wait up to a full year to get your restoration may seem like more of an undertaking than you care to go through. So, what if our very own Dr. Jay Shartzer told you that we could give you a full smile back in just one visit?
It might sound like an impossibility but with All-on-4 dental implants, you can get your smile back without having to wait months. Most people assume that if they want to replace multiple missing teeth that they need a single implant for each individual tooth; however, this isn’t true.
All-on-4 provides a set of four implants that are placed along the jawbone to support a full set of teeth. Implants are made from a biocompatible metal such as titanium, which means that it will naturally fuse together with natural bone and tissue. In essence, the implant and the jawbone will become one.
Along with having a reliable and long-term tooth replacement, implants also prevent bone loss by providing the jawbone with the stimulation it needs to remain strong and healthy. By placing implants we can prevent bone loss and changes to the structure of your face, which are major benefits for tooth loss sufferers.
Here’s how All-on-4 implants work. We will first apply a local anesthesia to numb your mouth prior to treatment. We may also administer sedation dentistry, which will help ease any dental anxieties and promote a sense of calm during your procedure. Then the gums are opened up to reveal the jawbone, where we will then place the All-on-4 implants.
With traditional implants, you have to wait several months after placing the implants to attach the false tooth or teeth, but with All-on-4 you don’t have to wait. Once the implants are embedded within the jawbone we can then attach the artificial teeth (also referred to as dentures), so you’ll leave our office with a brand new smile.
